My Dad

When I started to think about the memories of Dad and trying to put it on paper, I was over come with things to tell about. What I remember the most is what a hard worker he was, he was always doing some kind of work. He would hardly ever stay in the house very long before he would be back doing something. He was always fixing up and redoing things. He would always help Mom in her yard and was proud of how it looked.
I remember telling him I liked bird houses once, and he said lets go out in the shop I think I have enough wood to make you one. Yhat bird house is still in my yard and I think of him every time I see it.
He wanted us to be an eternal family and I remember kneeling down before school to have family prayer. He would make sure we had family home evening, I am so proud of the things he taught me and I so appreciate them now.
Dad loved Hereford cattle, he was most happy feeding the baby calves and taking care of the cattle, he had a love for horses too. I remember Flash the appaloosa. I was always hanging out with Dad I wanted to do the things out side I remember going to Barlow's on the horses , and driving cows to Elba. He would always buy us ice-cream at Osmers. I remember going to Barlow's to cut out sheep to take to the sale. I don't know why but the smell of horses brings back memories of Dad, maybe because Dad and I spent a lot of time together on horses. He loves my kids and was there to watch them in what ever they did. I am so grateful that I was raised by such good Parents who taught me the right things. Patty
